Having signed a multi-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing, Sabriel Matias is ready for a big fight, with his first assignment with Eddie Hearn being to defend his IBF super-lightweight title against Liam Paro in his native Puerto Rico.
Matias (20-1) is on a five-fight winning streak and has the IBF title in 2023. The 32-year-old will be fighting in Puerto Rico for the first time since 2019. All of his wins have come by knockout, making Matias a dangerous and often avoided fighter. A dominant victory in front of family and friends could lead to a unification bout against the best in the 140-pound division.
