Nassouddin Imavov continues his march toward a middleweight title shot after defeating Jared Cannonier in the main event of UFC on ESPN 57 on Saturday.
The bout, which took place at the KFC Yum Center in Louisville, Kentucky, was marked by controversy due to a questionable stoppage by referee Jason Herzog, but Imavov (14-4 MMA, 6-2 UFC) was ultimately victorious over former title challenger Cannonier (17-7 MMA, 10-7 UFC) via fourth-round knockout.
With just one loss in his last seven bouts, Imavov seems ready to take the next step in the 185-pound weight class.
