Last night at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, Blair Cobbs earned the biggest win of his career to date, bringing an end to Adrien Broner's career. After 10 highly entertaining rounds, Cobbs earned a well-deserved unanimous decision victory.

The scores were fairly close on both cards at 96-93, with the third judge having it more widely rated at 97-91. Cobbs now has a record of 17-1-1 (10). Broner, a four-division world champion who once threatened to be great, now has a record of 35-5-1 (24). Broner, rightfully nicknamed “The Problem,” has never been stopped in this fight.
After a crazy build-up, Broner came out and said all sorts of crazy things: name-calling, threats, insults, you name it. Cobbs was simply the better fighter, more disciplined and determined. Cobbs knocked Broner down in the second round, punching “The Problem” out of his teeth.
Cobbs boxed well, but his speed gave Broner trouble. Boner hung in there until the end, coming in strong in the later rounds. But Cobbs had enough going for him, and the fans and both fighters knew it. Don King made the fight a great spectacle, and the action was lively. Broner has been involved in some lackluster fights in the past, but last night, if this was his last fight (and Broner's time as an elite fighter is over), he at least finished on a spectacular night.
No one knows how far Cobbs can go or who he will face next.
On the same card, Michael Hunter won a one-sided 10 round decision over Cassius Chaney to win a fake version of the WBA heavyweight title. The overall score was 100-90. The fight was awful; Chaney barely did anything. Hunter had a good win over Martin Bacall and will next fight Jared Anderson.
Can Hunter still be a major contender at heavyweight at this stage in his professional career?
