Aaron Leo is gearing up to make his professional MMA debut at Caged Steel at The Dome in Doncaster on June 22. Taking on Bradley Tedham, Aaron shares his thoughts and feelings as the big day approaches.
“It feels amazing! I've been waiting for this for a long time. I was originally aiming for the fight in May so I can't wait to get out there.”
Making his professional MMA debut is a monumental career moment, and Aaron understands the significance of this moment: “It means a lot, but this is something I've always strived for. I'm very excited that the time has come to take the step towards going professional in MMA.”
Aaron Leo reflects on his amateur career
Looking back on his amateur career, Aaron is satisfied but acknowledges there were some missed opportunities.
“I'm pretty happy. I would have liked to try again at the IMMAF Euros or Worlds but it didn't work out that way. I've got everything I needed in my amateur career so I'm well prepared for this step.”
There aren't many fighters from a small country like Iceland, so Aron is proud to represent his country in the MMA world.
“It's always a pleasure. There aren't many fighters from Iceland so it's always nice to represent Icelandic MMA.”
Fighting Bradley Tedham
As for his next opponent, Bradley Tedham, Aron is confident in his preparation and ability and said the following about his opponent:
“I've done a bit of research on him and he seems like a very competitive opponent, but so do I. I think I'm technically better than him and I'm going to prove it on June 22.”
Aaron's journey from amateur to professional fighter has been one filled with dedication and anticipation, and as fight day approaches, all eyes will be on him to see if he can make the transition and make a name for himself in professional MMA.
