The 40-year-old Diaz has not competed since losing the rematch by third-round technical knockout. Robbie Lawler The fight took place at UFC 266 in September 2021. Unfortunately for the former Strikeforce champion, the result extended his winless streak, now 13 years since his last fight. As Diaz continues to fight, so too do fan favorites like Ferguson, who fights on the same night. Michael ChiesaPerhaps the most surprising aspect of this matchmaking decision is that it would see Diaz facing Lawler, who was unranked at the time, against Luque, who was ranked No. 14.
Diaz vs. Ferguson, especially the last Nate Diazwho defeated Ferguson by fourth-round guillotine in September 2022 (watch highlights). The bout marked Nate's final fight with the promotion.
