WWE NXT Battleground 2024 takes place this Sunday inside the UFC Apex, but a major rumor may have emerged that will debunk it.
One of the big bouts scheduled for Battleground is an NXT Underground match between Shayna Baszler and Laura Vice, and since both fighters were former professional MMA fighters, many assumed WWE could use the Octagon for the bout given their ties to UFC, which is owned by TKO Group Holdings.
In the end, that may not be the case.

Corey Brennan of Fightful reports that the NXT Battleground show inside the UFC Apex is unlikely to use the Octagon due to “logistical reasons.” This is disappointing news, as a fight like Baszler vs. Vice would have been a perfect way to settle the feud if it were held inside the Octagon.
Still, it will be a unique atmosphere for a WWE show, and many are wondering why NXT Battleground 2024 would take place at the APEX when the developing brand can fill arenas with its PLE specials. Some speculate that it was a good deal for WWE to run the show at the APEX with minimal costs, but either way, NXT is scheduled to appear in Las Vegas this weekend.
