The 2024 NBA Finals will feature the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks. The Celtics are looking to win their 18th NBA championship and once again become the NBA's most decorated team (currently tied with the Lakers). The Celtics last won in 2008, their only championship in the past 38 years. This will be the third NBA Finals appearance for the Mavericks, a much younger team than the Celtics, having last won in 2011.
The NBA's Lockervision site has released the uniform schedule for the first four games of the 2024 NBA Finals. Take a look:
The first two games of the series will be played in Boston, with the host Celtics opting for their classic white uniforms in Game 1 while Dallas will counter with their City Edition set. For Game 2, the Celtics will try something different, donning their black “Statement” uniforms versus the Mavs' white “Association” uniforms.

When the series moves to Dallas, the Celtics will continue to wear their white “Association” uniforms, while Dallas will wear their navy blue “Statement” uniforms for both Games 3 and 4.
The brackets for Games 5, 6 and 7 were not listed on the Lockervision site, but the Mavericks independently announced their outfit choices for those three games.
We will likely see the white “Association” uniforms again in Game 5 (my guess is Boston will probably wear the green “Icon” uniforms), while Dallas will wear the “City Edition” set in Games 6 and 7, meaning Boston will likely revert to the white Association set.
Looking at the Mavericks' uniform schedule, the team can only win the championship wearing their “traditional” team uniforms if they win five games. If they sweep, they'll win wearing their alternate “statement” set. If they win six or seven games, they'll win wearing their one-year-only “City Edition” uniforms.
Boston is hard to analyze because we only know what uniforms they will wear in the Finals if they ultimately sweep Dallas: it will be their white “Association” set. Knowing Dallas' Game 6 and Game 7 uniforms means we could see the Celtics win in their white uniforms if they win in those uniforms. The only real question is whether Boston will wear their green or black uniforms for that game if the Celtics win Game 5.
The Boston Celtics went 22-6 during the 2023-24 regular season and 3-1 in the 2024 NBA playoffs while wearing their white uniforms. They went 13-3 in the regular season and 5-0 in the playoffs while wearing their black uniforms.
Dallas went 7-7 in the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs while wearing their black “City Edition” uniforms, 17-13 on the season and 4-1 in the playoffs in their white uniforms, and finally, in their navy blue “Statement” set, they went 20-7 in the regular season and a less impressive 5-5 in the playoffs.
