Additional space will accommodate nearly double the workforce to support the launch of innovative treatments and the delivery of patient support services
ORLANDO, Fla., June 06, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — AssistRx, a provider of advanced care initiation and patient solutions, today announced it is expanding its facilities in Orlando, Fla., and Overland Park, Kansas, adding more than 82,000 square feet to its corporate footprint across the U.S. The expansion allows AssistRx to nearly double its employee headcount in 12 months to accommodate an expanding portfolio of technology and human resources services and client programs.
Facility expansions include:
-
AssistRx Headquarters (Orlando): Training and operations center for executives, support staff and patient solutions
-
South Park Office (Orlando): A facility for training and operation of patient solutions
-
Patient Solutions Extension (Overland Park): Patient Solutions Training Facility
“Our market reach includes 45 pharmaceutical clients encompassing more than 140 brands and representing nine of the top 10 biotech companies. To best support our expanding client portfolio, we have increased our employee base to approximately 1,400 employees,” said Jeff Spafford, CEO and president of AssistRx. “These new facilities support our talented team members by creating space for collaboration, innovation and career development, ultimately fostering best-in-class support for our clients' patients and healthcare providers.”
AssistRx is constantly innovating new solutions to fill gaps in the market. Recently, the company announced Advanced Access Anywhere, a first-of-its-kind solution designed to accelerate treatment initiation and automate patient support program enrollment at the point of pharmacy billing, and Advanced Gateway, the market's first single API integration to rapidly deploy a comprehensive, technology-first, self-service patient and provider access solution. These solutions build on AssistRx's established, market-leading technologies, including Advanced Benefit Verification, eMedical Benefit Verification, Advanced Prior Authorization, and other Advanced eServices.
AssistRx's expanded locations include dedicated space for employee training in Orlando and Overland Park, reflecting the organization's commitment to attracting and developing top talent. In September 2023, AssistRx launched AssistRx Advance, a career training program unique in the healthcare industry that equips individuals with strong customer service skills with specialty pharmaceutical expertise. Created by pharmaceutical industry veterans and corporate learning and development experts, the program provides participants with comprehensive training in specialty pharmaceutical areas and the delivery of critical patient support services.
“Since its launch, the AssistRx Advance career training program has engaged nearly 100 team members, educating them in the advanced professional and empathy skills they need to best support patients throughout their care journey,” said Edward Hensley, chief commercial officer at AssistRx. “With more space dedicated to corporate learning and development at all levels of the organization, we're better able to support patients and healthcare providers while serving as a consulting partner to life sciences organizations.”
The three new locations join AssistRx's existing facilities, bringing the company's nationwide corporate footprint to a total of 158,400 square feet.
Existing offices include:
-
Coassist Pharmacy: 16,800+ square foot facility in Orlando, Florida, including pharmacy operations and staff
-
Patient Solutions and Nonprofit Pharmacy: A 50,000+ square foot facility in Overland Park, Kansas that serves as home to our Patient Solutions and Nonprofit Pharmacy teams.
-
Innovation Office: A 9,600+ square foot facility in Des Moines, Iowa that serves as a hub for research and development of new technologies.
