There has been a lot of discussion in recent days about how Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was treated to begin her WNBA career, including how her teammates should have responded to the hard foul she received.
“The buzz right now is that Caitlin Clark said she got hit pretty badly against the Sky,” former NBA forward Matt Barnes said. “She's been beaten up all season. Hard screens, elbows, knockdowns. That's the reality. She's not the first and she won't be the last. My issue and question is, where the hell are her teammates? Where are you guys? Where is the rest of the Indiana Fever?”
That opinion is shared by many, but former Golden State Warriors guard Nick Young disagrees.
Young said Clark flops so often that her teammates don't know when to defend her. This isn't the first time Young has called out Clark for flopping, with the 2018 NBA champion feeling the Fever star is often the one looking to make contact.
The debate intensified after the Fever's one-point win over the Chicago Sky, in which Clark blocked a shot by Chennedy Carter, sparking days of debate, including Barnes' comments about Indiana's need to protect its stars.
