In our last discussion, we discussed the need to apply AI to training and education. Since then, generative AI has evolved even further, so I wanted to sit down with him again and discuss everything from in-house skills training to the best ways to build chatbots to how artificial intelligence can fundamentally impact education. Let's get started!
If we were to go from examining the Prussian education system to the state of the art in AI, that would be a good discussion for me. Additional points that came out of our discussion include:
- First, although generative AI is a transformative tool, people have mixed feelings about it and there are still misconceptions about the nature and capabilities of AI and large-scale language models. Every organization should consider educating their employees about the scope of this technology and what it can and cannot do.
- Secondly, even as generative AI changes the way we work, tech professionals around the world need to understand the fundamentals of their jobs and why code works. If you're creating a programming-related prompt, you need to understand exactly what you're asking for and how it fits into a larger project.
- Third, generative AI could have a huge impact on training and education in the future – just look at the rise of chatbots as tutors. For students and young engineers, this technology could fundamentally change the way they learn and keep their skills up to date.
Of course, we covered a lot more in this episode, so if you missed anything, give it another listen. See you next time. And don't forget that Dice is the best resource for finding the tech talent you need to fill your open positions, and the best place for technologists to grow their tech careers.
