The 2024 NBA Finals are set! The best-of-seven series between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks begins on June 6th, with just two teams remaining in the postseason (you can watch every game on ABC and the ESPN app).
The Celtics swept the Indiana Pacers to clinch the Eastern Conference title and are on a winning streak in the playoffs, defeating the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. Boston is seeking its 18th NBA Finals championship and will return to the series after losing to the Golden State Warriors in 2022.
The Mavericks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves to win the Western Conference championship and return to the NBA Finals for the first time since winning the franchise's lone title in 2011. Dallas also defeated the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder before beating the Timberwolves.
Boston, as the team with the better regular season record, has home-court advantage in this series, which will be played in a 2-2-1-1-1 format, with the Celtics hosting Games 1 and 2 and the Mavs hosting Games 3 and 4. If necessary, Boston will host Games 5 and 7 and Dallas will host Game 6.
