Olympic men's badminton champion Viktor Axelsen has withdrawn from this week's Indonesia Open with an ankle injury, just weeks away from defending his title in Paris.
The Dane sprained his right ankle at last week's Singapore Open, forcing him to withdraw from the semi-finals.
Axelsen posted on social media that he was not yet fully recovered.

Axelsen posted on social media that he was not yet fully recovered enough to take part in the prestigious Super 1000 tournament in Jakarta this week.
“I have been giving my all for the Indonesia Open but unfortunately I am not in a condition to play,” the world number one wrote on Platform X.
“I will miss playing in Jakarta. I promise I will be back soon.”

The 30-year-old sustained the injury during his round of 16 match against Taiwan's Lin Chun-Yi in Singapore.
He beat Malaysia's Leong Jun Hao in the quarterfinals but then withdrew.
The Olympic badminton competition begins in Paris on July 27th.
