There are two qualifying rounds for the Paris Olympics.and The World Olympic Boxing Qualification Tournament gave national federations three opportunities to qualify from each continent.
Asian female and male boxers have won a total of 71 Paris Olympic quota places from 15 countries out of 240 licenses. Asian female boxers have won 37 spots for the Paris Olympics, with several of them being gold medal contenders.
The Central Asian region is a leader in boxing, with Uzbekistan finally qualifying for 11 spots in the sport. All seven of its male boxers will compete in the Paris Olympics, plus a record number of young female boxers, four more. The oldest female boxer to qualify is 23-year-old Asian champion Navbakhor Hamidova.
Kazakhstan, one of the strongest boxing nations, only managed to secure two spots at the Hangzhou Asian Games, but its boxers ultimately secured 10 spots at the Paris Olympics. Like Uzbekistan, all of Kazakhstan's men's team, including the three women's boxers, qualified for the Olympics.
Thailand held the final qualifying tournament in Bangkok and there were six spots available for Thai boxers before the tournament. Two of the Thai boxers advanced to the second position.and With boxing's World Olympic Qualifiers held in Thailand, Thailand ultimately secured eight spots, its best showing since the 2008 Beijing Games.
China will field seven boxers at the Asian Games, with Xu Zichun securing an eighth spot in Bangkok. Her success at featherweight (57kg) will see China field a full women's national team at the Olympics.
Chinese Taipei returned to Olympic boxing in 2016 with two boxers, growing that to four for the Tokyo Games. Their final qualifying result was a record-breaking six spots for boxing, the best result in the country's history.
India faced some challenges in the qualification process but ultimately six of their boxers qualified for the Paris Olympics, three of them from the last chance event in Bangkok. Both Amit Panghal and Lovlina Borgohain have qualified for their second Olympic Games after Tokyo.
The Philippines had its best ever performance at the Tokyo Olympics, winning two silver and two bronze medals, and its powerful boxers secured five spots in Paris, their best showing since the 1996 Atlanta Games.
Two promising nations, Tajikistan and Jordan, have had the great feat of each sending three boxers to the Paris Olympics. Mizgona Samadova is Tajikistan's first female boxer to compete since London 2012, when Tajikistan's Mavzuna Khoryeva won an impressive bronze medal.
Mongolia, South Korea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Japan and Vietnam will each field two or two boxers at the Olympics, while Kyrgyzstan will return to the competition for the first time since 2016 with one boxer.
