The Oklahoman: The Celtics will win the series against the Mavericks in seven games
Justin Martinez wrote, “Flashbacks to the 2010-11 Dallas Mavericks, who made it to the NBA Finals as the No. 3 seed and beat the Miami Heat. There's some magic in this Dallas team, but Boston still figures to be the favorite to win it all. A defense with Jrue Holiday and Derrick White will provide Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving with their biggest test yet, and hopes are high that Kristaps Porzingis (calf injury) will return. Bet on Boston in a thrilling seven-game series.”
Bleacher Report: Mavericks beat Celtics in 7 games
Andy Bailey wrote: “Dallas has two of the best closers left in Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who both have the size (thanks in large part to the acquisitions of Gafford and Washington), defensive versatility and ability to elevate their stars. When the game gets close (and it will), Luka and Kyrie should be good enough to outplay Tatum, Brown and White and win this series in seven games.”
NBC Sports: Celtics beat Mavericks in 6 games
Nick Goss wrote, “Not only do the Celtics have home-court advantage, they've also been dominant on the road. They enter Game 1 of the Finals having won eight straight playoff games on the road. Boston has made great strides in key games, which is another reason to be optimistic the Celtics can win this series. The last four games in a row are always the toughest, and as the favorites, the Celtics will be under a lot of pressure to get the job done. The Celtics have been the best team all season and could finally silence their critics by winning their 18th championship in a few weeks.”

NBA Insider: Celtics beat Mavericks to win NBA Finals
“I haven't seen any signs yet that make me think the Celtics can't win it,” Charles Barkley said. “I think it's going to be a tough series, but I'm rooting for the Celtics.”
Sporting News: Celtics win series against Mavericks in six games
Steven Noh wrote: “The Celtics play five and out and attack from deep. They have the ability to spread the floor and attack from anywhere on the court. Dallas has vastly improved its defense against Kyrie Irving and Doncic throughout the playoffs, but they will be mercilessly tested in this series and there will be no escapes. … Doncic will make it a close game; he is just too good to stop. But the Celtics have the advantage on both ends of the court.”
