Skip Bayless believes Draymond Green is a player who will go down in NBA history, but that has nothing to do with the Warriors star's on-court success or four NBA championships.
Appearing on “The Skip Bayless Show” on Thursday, Bayless called Green “the dirtiest player in the history of the NBA” in a four-minute tirade aimed directly at the veteran forward.
“Now, the amazing truth about Draymond Green is I've never seen anything like this in my career,” Bayless said. “Draymond Green is, no exaggeration, the dirtiest player in the history of the NBA, ever. The dirtiest player in the history of the NBA, ever, is Draymond Green.”
Bayless then urged viewers to search YouTube for “lowlight tapes of Draymond Green's dirtiest plays over the years” to back up his claim.
In particular, Bayless – who Green recently named the “biggest hater” outside the NBA – accused Green of “sneaky aggression,” “low blows” and “dangerous play” that make the 34-year-old Green “the greatest sneaky aggression artist of all time.”
As evidence to support his claim, Bayless explained how Green is a “great actor” who has fooled the public into thinking he's a likeable person despite his on-court misconduct.
“Deep down, he was a little bit of a crazy, dirty basketball player,” Bayless said. “Since he entered the league, Draymond Green has been ejected 20 times, the most in the league. He's also been given 151 technical fouls.”
But Bayless didn't stop there. He also made sure to mention the incident with former teammate Jordan Poole that led to Green being fined by Golden State.
“This is the same guy who was a great teammate, Draymond, who smack-banged teammate Jordan Poole in practice,” Bayless added. “We were able to watch the video.
“Someone released the tape because they wanted to expose Draymond. Someone within the Golden State Warriors organization wanted to show the world the real Draymond Green.”
Green found himself in the eye of a storm last season after his outrageous actions included punching Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face and choking Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert, which led to the veteran receiving a 21-game suspension.
Of course, Bayless made sure to add those two suspensions to his rant.
“Of course, just this past season, Draymond Green was suspended twice for dirty plays,” Bayless said, “five games for dragging Rudy Gobert into a headlock and 16 games for the MMA-style psych kick he gave Nurkic.”
“I've never seen anything like that during a game.”
In true Bayless fashion, Bayless concluded his point by praising the future Hall of Famer's on-air talents despite being the “filthiest player of all time.”
Anyone who knows Green will tell you it's only a matter of time before he uses his talents to strike back.
