Fake Snapchat Fan Scam
… NBA prospects want to be removed

A sleazy guy pretending to be an NBA prospect. James McCain He's been scamming fans out of their hard-earned money on Snapchat… and now the real James McCain's team is working to remove his account from the app.
TMZ Sports The investigation found that an individual unrelated to the 20-year-old McCain had recently approached people on the platform, and after several weeks of conversation and building trust, the user ultimately planned to offer them discounts on gift items from SKIMS and other companies.

SKIMS also has ties to the NBA and will be McCain's next employer.
Once a deal is agreed upon, potential buyers are instructed to transfer money, sometimes hundreds of dollars, to a Cash App account that doesn't bear McCain's image or name. Naturally, this is unsettling, but the scammers assure them it's only to prevent women from sending them money to impress him.
In other words, the people behind the scam will explain all the possible red flags that may arise during the transaction and as soon as they get their hands on the money, they cut off contact or block the desired buyer and move on.
Those close to the former Duke University star are aware of the account's existence and are reportedly in contact with Snap to have it removed.
Already financially comfortable on a NIL contract during his college years, McCain is a future NBA star on the verge of making millions at the professional level and has a huge following on social media.
So, to all the wise people out there, if Jared McCain seems to be short on cash…it's not him.
