Both Andres Katsourakis and Kudratilo Abdukakhorov weighed in Thursday for their bout on Friday at Houston's Red Owl Boxing Arena, the show's main event and part of Overtime Boxing's ongoing junior middleweight tournament.
Katsourakis (12-0, 10 KOs) weighed in at 153.2 pounds, while Abdukakhorov (20-2, 12 KOs) finished at 153.6 pounds in the scheduled 10-round bout.
Katsourakis, 26, is training with Greek boxer Ronnie Shields, who has relocated to Texas and is a former kickboxer looking to make a name for himself.
“I'm so excited to be the headliner of my first show to air on DAZN and Overtime,” Katsourakis said. “I've been waiting for a moment like this. I'm about to put on a show for you all.”
The 30-year-old Abdukakhorov, nicknamed “The Punisher,” is on a two-fight win streak after consecutive losses to Cody Crowley and Shawn Owens at welterweight, which prompted him to move up to junior middleweight.
In the semifinals, Robert Terry (11-0-1, 4 KOs) weighed in at the junior middleweight limit of 154 pounds, while his opponent, Esteban Villalobos (16-2-1, 12 KOs), weighed in at a slightly lighter 153.8 pounds. This bout is also scheduled to be a 10-round contest.
As with all overtime boxing shows, in the event of a draw, extra rounds will be played to determine a winner.
The winners of the main and co-main events will face off later this year. Junior middleweights Brandon Adams and Francisco Daniel Veron, winners of the last OTX show, will meet in the other semifinal to determine a future final matchup.
