Cambridge Future Tech It has raised $5 million to attract venture capital to help deep tech startups in the pre-incorporation and pre-seed stages scale their operations.
CFT is based in Cambridge and is led by CEO Owen Thompson and COO Xavier Parkhouse-Parker. They work closely with the UK's leading universities, scientists and inventors to commercialise scientific discoveries and innovations. Recent engagements include partnerships with industry giant AngloAmerican plc and CERN, home of the Large Hadron Collider.
The company is committed to launching eight more ventures with corporate partners each year, with recent efforts including collaborations with industry giant AngloAmerican plc and CERN, home of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
Since its launch in 2022, CFT has co-launched 10 DeepTech ventures across the UK, with several more currently in the build stage, creating over 80 highly skilled jobs and raising over $10 million in external funding. These ventures have secured over $4.5 million in grant funding to support significant research and development activity. With a total pre-seed valuation of over $50 million, CFT has successfully led six ventures through pre-seed rounds in the past year.
CFT-backed startups include: Literal Lab, Mimicreat, Autopicker, NeuroXR, Cam AI, Mission Decision, Walletand GitLife Biotech.
