HANOI — Tran Ngoc Luong will become the next Vietnamese fighter to compete in ONE Championship, the world's biggest mixed martial arts competition.
Luong recently signed with ONE Championship and is set to make his debut in June, although the name of his opponent has yet to be announced.
Luong is a household name in domestic MMA circles. After a controversial win over Robson Oliveira at the biggest MMA series, LION Championship 5, Luong proved himself with three impressive wins in subsequent events.
His incredible achievements played a key role in his progression to ONE Championship, a dream tournament for many fighters.
Luong currently trains at Saigon Sports Club Shadow Entertainment in Ho Chi Minh City, which has hosted numerous professional fighting tournaments, including Muay Thai Rampage: Road to One.
Luong will become the fifth Vietnamese fighter to compete in ONE Championship.
Tran Quang Loc was the first fighter to claim a victory in the ONE Warriors Series, while Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat recorded a knockout victory at ONE Championship in Vietnam in 2019.
Luong Thanh Phuc also competed in ONE in 2022, but missed out on the championship.
