Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, is expected to meet with several teams, including the Suns and Lakers, ahead of next month's NBA draft, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Phoenix has the 22nd pick, and Charania said, “James is one of the candidates. He has been invited to more than 10 workouts, but only a few teams are expected to visit.”
Los Angeles is the favorite to acquire James' talents, with the 17th pick, as LeBron spent his final few seasons there.
Because of his status, James has long been a mixed bag in the 2024 draft — he averaged just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19 minutes in 25 games at USC — but the former four-star recruit has fundamental skills that could translate to the NBA.
At the NBA Draft Combine, James stood 6'1.5″ tall without shoes but boasted an arm span of 6'7″.
During the Combine practice game, James made 4 of 10 shots in 23 minutes, scoring 13 points and earning the game's Most Valuable Player award.
In a recent interview, James' agent, Rich Paul, told Bleacher Report that James won't sign a two-way contract after the draft.
