Frank Warren's Queensbury have announced the latest fixtures for the Magnificent Seven, who have hosted some of the best matches in the UK, especially post-pandemic.
Most notably, BBBofC British Middleweight Champion Nathan “The Hitman” Heaney (18-0-1) defeated “The Newkie Bomb” Brad Pauls (18-1-1) It's a rematch of their captivating March match. The Stoke-on-Trent champions, who upset Denzel Bentley (19-3-1) in their last match, fought to the end against the Pauls and proved extremely difficult to score on.
Although many would credit Pauls' excellent shot selection, Heaney continued to fight tough round after round. This rematch is sure to be exciting as both fighters look to settle it without leaving it on the scorecards.
IBO World Super Bantamweight Champion Liam Davis (16-0) will claim the honor in his last bout against tough Mexican Eric Robles Ayala (15-2), who was “terrible” . This time, the Telford fighter will take on 'Maverick' Shabazz Massoud (12-0), who currently holds WBA Intercontinental Super Bantamweight honors.
This should be highly entertaining as two unbeaten super bantamweights put it all on the line to make a statement.
New Queensbury recruit Chantel Cameron (18-1) will make her promotional debut when she takes on Elhem Mekhaled (16-2) for the vacant WBO Interim World Super Lightweight Title.
Having missed out on a third match against Katie Taylor (23-1), she is looking to get her chance the hard way by winning the interim title and preparing for a trilogy. But “The Diamond” has other plans.
The French fighter is looking for a chance to bounce back after losing to Alicia Baumgardner (15-1) in the World Honors Championship.
Former WBO European heavyweight titleholder David Adeleye (12-1) is also looking for a chance at revenge, winning the BBBofC English heavyweight title and defeating Fabio Wardley (17-0-1). I'll be chasing you. Titleholder “The Real Deal” Solomon Dacres (8-0) is fresh off a disappointing victory over Michael Webster (10-1).
This looks like it's going to be a tough battle. Adeleye is looking to make a comeback after a long break, and Dacres is looking to prove his worth and strength after his shaky defense last time out.
Echo the Engine Essman (19-1) returns after losing to Derby's Harry Scarfe (13-3). The one-time holder of the BBBofC British, Commonwealth Boxing Council, IBF European and WBC International Silver Welterweight titles will look to make his adjustment with a win (10-0) over local Worcester's Owen Cooper.
Currently listed on the BBBofC England and WBO European welterweight titlists, Cooper is a pretty good fighter who has followed the traditional route and won prestigious titles along the way. If he can win against an established name like Essman, his progress will continue.
Underdog Ashley Lane (18-10-2) earned a stunning upset victory over Chris Burke (13-2) at York Hall in March. Joining the Magnificent Seven, he will face Liverpool's Andrew Kane (11-1) for the BBBofC British Commonwealth Boxing Council bantamweight title.
Kane is younger than 'The Flash' and has earned degrees in his short career, but he will be a big threat to the elder statesman of the British bantamweight scene.
Also of note is Nottingham's young Ezra 'The Cannon' Taylor (8-0), who appears to be eyeing a shot at the Commonwealth Silver Light Heavyweight title, competing against British hopeful Ezra 'The Cannon' Taylor (8-0). He is aiming to move into the light heavyweight division.
Birmingham will see plenty of great players and bust-ups on July 20th, as battles from English level to interim world titles take place.
