CHICAGO (WCMH) — Ohio State University will host one of its football games this season on a Major League Baseball field.
Northwestern announced its football schedule in a social media post Wednesday. This includes a Nov. 16 game against the Buckeyes at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. The Wildcats have not played all home games due to renovations at Evanston's Ryan Field.
The most recent game between Ohio State and Northwestern took place on November 5th at Ryan Field and resulted in a 21-7 victory. The Buckeyes have won 10 straight against the Wildcats, their last loss coming in 2004.
This will be the first time in 30 years that the Buckeyes will play in a stadium primarily used by MLB teams, since 1994 when they played Fresno State at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
A kickoff time has not been announced. So far, the only game on the Buckeyes' schedule with a kickoff is against Michigan on Nov. 30 at noon.
