EA Sports on Thursday announced the official release date for its upcoming video game College Football 25, while also revealing the covers for the standard and deluxe editions of the highly anticipated title. The first college football video game to be released after an 11-year hiatus includes: Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Colorado athlete Travis Hunter appear on the cover, which was partially leaked last week.
As for “College Football 25” itself, the game will be released on Friday, July 19th. A more complete announcement will come this Friday, with EA Sports expected to release more gameplay footage and additional teasers for the game.
Last week, the deluxe version of College Football 25 hit the PlayStation Store, adding an option for fans to wishlist the game. That version's cover art features Edwards, Ewers, Hunter, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins, and Clemson University running back Quinshon Judkins. Also included were unknown players from programs such as , USC and Notre Dame.
Speaking of Ewers, University of Texas backup Arch Manning likely won't play in the game as he wasn't among the more than 10,000 players who opted in for the game.
Players who opt-in to “College Football 25” will receive a $600 NIL check, but several high-profile athletes will receive more lucrative deals that include title branding and trailer appearances ahead of the game's summer 2024 release. I tied it.
In February, EA Sports announced that the revival of the college football video game series, which has been broadcast on ice since 2013, would be released this summer. The company released a hype trailer and revealed renderings of in-game assets such as player models, mascots, and stadiums.
What you need to know about Cover Star
Michigan RB Donovan Edwards
CBS Sports Top 100 Ranking: Unranked
Some may see it as an odd choice with Edwards being the absolute front line and center, but reigning national champion Michigan deserves first place and lost a number of players in the NFL Draft. Defensive tackle Mason Graham and cornerback Will Johnson Jr. are better players but don't have the same mass appeal as Edwards. Edwards gained 104 yards and two touchdowns on just six carries in the title win against Washington. With Blake Colm gone, he has the backfield pretty much to himself.he eventually Great choice as a cover boy.
Texas QB Quinn Ewers
CBS Sports Top 100 Ranking: 15th
As Texas moves to the SEC, all eyes will be on Quinn Ewers to see if the former No. 1 overall pick can make the final leap into becoming an elite national championship-winning quarterback. There are a lot of skilled players around him. He should be fine in other games as well, including the road show at Alabama (349 yards, 3 TDs in the win) and throttling Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship (454 yards, 4 TDs).
Colorado CB Travis Hunter
CBS Sports Top 100 Ranking: No. 1
The most famous player in college football is Travis Hunter, who plays both ways for Colorado State's team and consistently garners headlines. Hunter will likely remain a cornerback in the NFL and is projected to be a top-three pick. Hunter, ranked No. 1 in the Class of 2022, made a splash on his signing day by transferring from Florida State and signing with Jackson State and Deion Sanders. When Sanders left Jackson State for the head coaching job at Colorado in 2023, Hunter followed. He's pure dynamite.
