TOPSoccer (Outreach Program for Soccer) is a recreational sports program for children with intellectual, mental and physical disabilities. Developed by US Youth Soccer, TOPSoccer provides people of diverse abilities the opportunity to play games in a safe, fun, supportive and inclusive structured environment.
“TOPSoccer is designed to provide opportunities for boys and girls with disabilities to learn and play soccer,” said CJSA Executive Josh Kulusevski. “TOPSoccer's goal is to enable young athletes to develop physical fitness, technical skills, courage and self-esteem through the joy and excitement of playing soccer,” the statement said.
The festival will include small games, skill sessions, and contests. The celebration will feature food trucks, ice cream and giveaways for attendees. Representatives from the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer program will also be featured.
All existing CJSA TOPSoccer programs and their members are invited to participate in this free event. Parents and players who would like to learn more about TOPSoccer or participate in the festival are also invited, free of charge.
