Deeptech technology startup SUBLIME Energy today announced that it has secured €11.5 million in funding.
Founded in France in 2019, the company supports biogas production, which uses renewable gas instead of fossil fuels. These gases replace fossil-based gases and strengthen regional resilience.
SUBLIME Energy's proprietary biogas liquefaction technology enables local collection of biogas from small and remote farms, making it economically viable by sharing purification costs.
Specifically, the technology developed by Paris Mines – PSL's CES (Centre for Energy Efficiency Systems) will open up new market potential for around 26 TWh of biomethane and save millions of tons of CO2 per year in France. enable collection.
The biomethane produced helps reduce carbon emissions from heavy transportation. It can be used directly on farms, such as on tractors equipped with BioLNG, or in the logistics sector with large trucks.
This latest funding round, led by the Environment and Solidarity Revolution Fund managed by Credit Mutuel Impact and PSL, will support the development, production and deployment of the demonstration plant.
The demonstrator will produce 180 tonnes of low-carbon fuel and 300 tonnes of biogenic CO2 per year. It is scheduled to be installed at Gazea, which operates agricultural methanizers, by 2025.
By 2026, approximately 12 methane generators will be integrated with this innovation in the first commercial projects.
Bruno Adhémar, co-founder and president of SUBLIME Energy, said:
“This new funding is an important step for SUBLIME Energy. Having proven the efficiency of the world's first biogas liquefaction and purification technology, we now have the means to deploy it.
Thanks to the trust of the Credit Alliance Federation team in charge of the Environmental Solidarity Revolution Fund, we are now taking a major leap towards commercialization and large-scale deployment. ”
Sabine Schimel, Managing Director of Credit Mutuel Impact, said:
“By strengthening the development of the biomethane and bio-CO2 sectors and providing additional income to farmers, the innovative solutions proposed by Sublime Energy are funded by the Social Dividend of the Mutual Alliance of Credit Unions. fully consistent with the investment strategy of our Environmental and Solidarity Revolution Fund.
We are committed to supporting SUBLIME Energy in the long term as they scale up and commercialize their green technology. ”
