The Downriver League began its women's soccer position round play schedule Wednesday night. Some of the matchups involved two of the top three teams in the conference as Dearborn-Edsel Ford traveled to Brownstown-Woodhaven.
It was the second meeting between the two clubs in nine days. Edsel Ford played at home against Woodhaven on April 29th, coming away with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory.
But Monday was a stark contrast as the host Warriors once again got off to a fast start, but this time they never relinquished the lead. They won 8-1 against a Thunderbirds team that was undermanned and plagued by injuries.
