The Minnesota All-Sports Alliance announced today that Minnetonka High School's Hagen Barrow is the winner of the 40th Mr. Hockey Award, given to Minnesota's outstanding high school male hockey player. Chanhassen High School's Cam Hendrickson was recognized as the top senior goaltender in Minnesota and won the Frank Brimsek Award. Matt Micah, CEO of the Minnesota Wild, received the 7th annual Mr. Hockey Ambassador Award, which is given to an influential leader who has been instrumental in the growth and development of hockey in Minnesota.
The 40th Annual Mr. Hockey Awards Banquet was held early today at the St. Paul River Center, hosted by Katie Storm. The Mr. Hockey Award is sponsored, coordinated and presented by the Minnesota All-Sports Alliance. The Minnesota Wild is a sponsor of the Mr. Hockey Awards Banquet.
The Mr. Hockey Award is selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts, junior scouts/coaches, and select media from around the state. Finalists for this year's award are Javon Moore (Minnetonka), Jackson Nevers (Edina), Carson Pilgrim (Warlord), Nolan Rodd (White Bear Lake), John Stout (Minnetonka), Gavin – Uhlenkamp (Chanhassen) and Noah Arness (Roseau). , Reece Wallin (Wayzata) and Lewis Wehrman (Providence). Hunter Bauer (Minnetonka) and AJ Reiertz (Proctor) are finalists for the Frank Brimsek Award.
Michael Weiss (Marshall) and Rich Meng (Centennial) received the John Mariucci Award, given to the Class A and Class AA high school coach of the year.
