Mike Tyson is scheduled to face Jake Paul in a heavyweight bout in Texas in July despite the 30-year age difference between the two boxers
Boxing fans have slammed the possibility of Mike Tyson, 57, facing Jake Paul in a heavyweight bout this summer, with some claiming it would amount to “elder abuse”.
Tyson last fought in an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, and will be 58 years old when he steps into the ring. Meanwhile, YouTube star Paul celebrated his 27th birthday in January and most recently competed against former Gold Glove champion Ryan Bolland earlier this month.
Despite Tyson being 30 years older than Paul, the two are scheduled to meet glove-to-globe in Texas in July. However, fans have already decided who will come out on top. This comes after a video of Tyson, who retired from professional boxing in 2005, sparring in the ring was posted on social media.
Tyson showed off some signature moves and looked sharp, even if he was understandably a little slower than his previous self. However, following the video, fans couldn't help but criticize the idea of Tyson returning to the ring to face Paul later this summer.
One eagle-eyed fan said, “One clean shot and Tyson would be down. A real boxer who respects the sport wouldn't want to make a name for himself.” [out] of the 58-year-old legend. ”
A second admitted, “This is so wrong. Even though Tyson is a great boxer and Paul is a YouTuber. He's 57 years old!! This shouldn't be happening. What do you think?”

A third claimed: “He looks amazing for a man over 50.” “Don't be fooled. No matter how bad you think Paul is, he shouldn't be in the ring with Jake Paul.” Another said: “Mike doesn't look good.” .
A fifth said: “He'll be 58 by the time of the fight. That's not the right guy. It would be elder abuse, but we'll agree it won't be too embarrassing. By the way, I'm a legend Mike・I love Tyson.'' '' A sixth said: “What I noticed after watching Tyson's videos is that he can't lay low anymore.''
“There's no way UNC needs this much money, right?” Number 7 is revealed. “His legacy is solid and if he gets knocked out or loses to Jake Paul, it would ruin it. I'm not saying he'll lose, but there's a chance he loses. There's definitely that, especially now that he's older and not in his prime. ”
Meanwhile, other fans are rooting for Tyson, who made his long-awaited return to the ring against Paul, who first faced fellow YouTube sensation KSI in 2018. Another claimed: “With all due respect, Jake is tough @jakepaul.”
