The Orlando Pride continued their winning streak on Friday, but that news was overshadowed by Brazilian midfielder Luana being diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. As Luana will miss the remainder of the season due to her treatment, we wish her all the luck, love, and positive vibes we can. We know she is the fighter she is, so we believe she will overcome this disease and she will come back stronger than ever.
We broke down Orlando's win in Washington, including Barbra Banda's big performance in her first start and Anna Moorhouse's unnecessary adventure in goal. It's great that the Pride are winning, but something has to be done to prevent these major mistakes from Moorhouse, who has made three major mistakes in their last 11 NWSL games. We looked at our score predictions and made our Player of the Match selections, which were always a no-brainer.
This week, our mailbag box received questions about the name of the podcast, the Pride's goalie situation, and why a one-goal lead late in the game scared one of our listeners.Remember, you can ask us anything Connect with us on Twitter. @maneLand or @SkoPurp Soccer And use the hashtag #AskSkoPurp. We ended the show with a preview of the Pride's two games in a few days against North Carolina Courage and Racing Louisville. We've looked at their statistical performance so far, provided key matchups for the game, and provided score predictions.
The synopsis of episode 41 is as follows.
0:15 – Luana needs our support. Additionally, Pride continued to have success against Spirit, but the ending was more tense than expected.
30:35 – My mailbox is very full and I love it.
51:03 – A preview of Courage and Racing Louisville coming to Inter&Co Stadium sometime next week.
