Tomorrow is tournament day for the two Greene County High School varsity soccer teams. Coach Maribel Hernandez's women's team will travel to Creston on Saturday, while coach Carl Boehne's men's team will head to Nevada.
The Greene County girls team has yet to get into the win column this season, but perhaps tomorrow will be the day. The Rams have won one game in each of the past two seasons, both coming in the Creston Tournament vs. the host Creston Panthers. The Rams have struggled to put the ball in the net this season, scoring just one goal in nine games.
The Nevada State Men's Tournament features many great teams and individuals, and 2024 will be no different. The Rams are 7-2 on the season, but have lost two of their last four games. A strong performance at Nevada could be a springboard for the second half of the regular season.
