Omaha Hockey season tickets are on sale for new purchases and renewals
First NCAA Tournament appearance in three years and fifth in program history. For more information on MAVS, Lauren Michelson is on hand with Omaha head coach Mike Galvin in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Welcome to Premier Center. The Omaha hockey team is scheduled to play Minnesota here in the NCAA Tournament, and head coach Mike Gabinet was here today to talk about how the team is preparing for this big moment, but how they're feeling right now. What does it feel like? Oh, the group is excited. It's a special group of players. They've worked hard to get to this point, and it's been a long journey. Now just enjoy it and get ready for tomorrow night. we are excited. What sets this group apart from other teams you've coached? What makes them so special? Well, the first word that comes to mind is “character.” It's just a very, very unique group. they love working. They are coachable and extremely resilient. I think in the long season that we're playing, you guys face a lot of adversity, but they always respond well and that's really led to why we're here today. Masu. Now, this year, the word “belief” has been thrown around a lot in the locker room. Tell us a little bit about that. Yes, it is required. I think you have to believe in yourself. You have to believe in your team. Especially when faced with the level of competition we face all the time. That belief is very important. In the home series before the North Dakota game, you could really feel the belief shift, to not just think about it, but to really believe it. When it comes to your fans, how involved have they been on this journey with you guys? I think that's what makes Omaha special. I just think about the amount of support we have. When you think about Omaha, I think it's just the good people who are around the program and support you all the time. And now share it with them. That's what makes it special. As a coach, when you can share that with your players, your community, your university, your fans, that's what you really dream of. What do you need to do to get the win tomorrow night? Yeah, they've got talented players, but the good thing is we know it very well. We played from North Dakota State, Denver State. They all have really talented players and are right in the playoff picture. We'll be very careful with our game plan and make sure we're ready to compete and not overestimate them. I hope we always maintain the belief that we are a good team and that we are ready to get back to you in the studio. thank you. Lauren Omaha, Minnesota Lake game will be played tomorrow night in Sioux Falls (ESPNU 730).The winner will face the winner of his BU RIT in the second round game played on Saturday
