About hockey helping the homeless
In 1996, Hockey Helping the Homeless (HHTH) was born from a simple idea to use hockey to help Toronto's neediest people. A group of Toronto businessmen took advantage of donated ice time at Maple's Leaf Gardens to host a charity hockey tournament for friends and colleagues. The first tournament, then called “Hockey for the Homeless,” raised just over $8,000 in prize money.
Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) leverages Canada's affinity for hockey to raise awareness and financial support for the homeless through education, fundraising, and partnerships with solution-based local homeless agencies. Masu.
HHTH believes that all Canadians should have a safe place to call home and the support they need to thrive. To give all homeless and at-risk Canadians a chance to play, HHTH hosts pro-am hockey tournaments across Canada where players raise funds to directly impact their communities. I am.

Hockey Help the Homeless focuses on two main categories to help our partners: housing projects and support. Housing projects include emergency housing, renovations, furniture, and shelter for men, women, youth, and families. Support for clients includes recreation, health and wellness, staff support, meals, mental health services, addiction services, custodial, transportation, education, outreach, and skill building. Through the years of support of HHTH, the hockey world has brought together passionate leaders in the community dedicated to ending homelessness.
