East Lansing, Michigan – The Michigan State field hockey team is preparing for a nine-day trip to South Africa for high-level training and competition. In addition, teams will have the opportunity to visit some of the country's important historical sites and landmarks, including a safari and a ferry ride to Cape Point.
“After months of planning, the Spartans can't wait to head to South Africa today. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our student-athletes and staff,” the head coach said. Helen Knull. “We will play three games in and around Cape Town. We will learn about the history and traditions of this country, give back to local communities and enjoy the beauty of this country. We will carry the Spartan flag everywhere. I'm looking forward to representing Michigan State in South Africa. ”
The Spartans will play three matches during their stay in South Africa (Bishop Diocesan, Somerset West Hockey Club and Stellenbosch).
