Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz says he will form a dream team with legendary compatriot Rafael Nadal in the men's doubles at the Paris Olympics later this year “if everything goes well”.
The tennis tournament, which runs from July 27 to August 4, was held at Roland Garros, by which time Nadal, 38, had won a record 14 French Open singles titles.
After reaching the Madrid Open quarterfinals and extending his Madrid Open winning streak to a record-tying 14, Alcaraz said he and Nadal had talked “a little bit” about teaming up in Paris.
“As I said, if everything goes according to plan, we will be playing doubles together at the Olympics,” said Alcaraz, who will turn 21 on Sunday's Madrid final.
“But we have a long way to go before that begins.”

Alcaraz, a two-time Grand Slam singles champion, said it would be difficult to find a tournament to prepare her for the Olympics together.
At least one of their problems is that both have struggled with injuries, with Nadal having struggled with injuries in recent years and Alcaraz recovering from an arm injury to return to Madrid.
“We've been talking about how great it would be to have a tournament before the Olympics,” Alcaraz said.

“But it will be difficult.
“On clay, the next two tournaments are Rome and Roland Garros, which are very important for both of us in terms of singles.
“It will be difficult for me to play in both tournaments and the Olympics, considering that I have not yet reached my peak physically.”
