BOONE, N.C. (WGHP) – Appalachian State University football player John “Jack” Murphy has died, the university announced Monday.
According to a statement obtained by the university, Watauga Democratic PartyMegan Hayes Sr., vice chancellor and chief communications officer, said Murphy died Friday.
“It is with deep sadness that we confirm the death of Appalachian State University student John “Jack” Murphy on April 26,” Hayes said. “The hearts of the App State community are with Jack's loved ones during this extremely difficult time. We respect his family's wishes and wishes and are providing support and assistance as requested. ”
Hayes did not provide a cause of death. The university said investigators do not suspect any wrongdoing.
