Casper University News Release by Lisa Eisnogle:
Two Casper University women's soccer players have signed contracts to play at the collegiate level. Former Kelly Walsh High School player Regan Camp and Brazilian Tatiana Ferreira are both freshmen.
Camp is a wing forward who can also play as an outside back, according to women's soccer head coach Amon Bennett. “Reagan will have a chance to be a starter for the Yellow Jackets. She is a tall, aggressive and smart player with a big shot who should provide much-needed depth to the program. “I wish President Reagan all the best in his new adventure,” Bennett said.
Camp will play for the Defiance College Yellowjackets. Defiance University, located in Defiance, Ohio, is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The team will compete in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference this fall. The Lady Jackets finished the 2023 season with a record of 2-12-2 overall and 0-8 in conference play under first-year head coach Isabelle Danner.
Tatiana Ferreira, a native of São Paulo, Brazil, signed the pledge to attend Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. “Tatiana had her season cut short in Casper due to injury and only played in two games,” Bennett said. “She is a hard worker with great skills and will have a good opportunity to play significant minutes for the Hawks. We are happy to have found her a home where she can continue her academic and athletic goals.” I'm very happy about that,” Bennett added.
The Shorter University Hawks are an NCAA Division II team and play in the Gulf Coast Conference. Under head coach Leslie Pierce in his second season, the Hawks went 1-16 overall and 0-13 in conference play.
“We would like to thank both Regan and Tatiana for their participation in the Casper College Thunderbirds program and wish them the best of luck in the future,” Bennett said.
