Another piece of the defensive puzzle is being completed as Colorado's 2025 football freshman class is coming together.
On Saturday, former University of Michigan and University of Charlotte linebacker Nikai Greenhill committed to the Buffaloes. Additionally, two high school prospects announced verbal commitments to the Buffs and head coach Deion Sanders.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Greenhill had 73 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble last year in Charlotte, his only season with the 49ers.
Before transferring to Charlotte, Greenhill spent three seasons at Michigan. He started six games and recorded 50 tackles in 2021, but missed the 2022 season due to injury.
Three-star tight end Corbin Leasure (Bluff City, Tenn.) and three-star linebacker Mantrez Walker (Buford, Ga.) also committed to the Buffs.
CU currently has three players committed to 2025, including four-star cornerback Alex Graham, who announced his commitment Friday.
The 6-5, 215-pound Ledger caught 64 passes for 774 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior at Sullivan East High School last fall. In his sophomore year, he caught 30 passes for 419 yards and four touchdowns. In basketball, he averaged 16.1 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.
A three-star prospect by 247Sports, Laisure has 14 scholarship offers, including Arizona State, Louisville and Syracuse.
Walker had 54 tackles and four tackles for loss last season at Buford High School, posting a 6-1, 225 record. Walker, who is rated a three-star with 247 points, has 28 scholarship offers on his list, including Miami, Michigan, Mississippi and Stanford.
