BISMARCK, N.D. — On Saturday, the Bismarck Bobcats faced elimination in Game 4 of the Central Division semifinals against the Aberdeen Wings. With their backs against the wall, the Bobcats won 8-2, forcing a winner-take-all Game 5 in Bismarck.
For Bobcats, there's nothing like a home-cooked meal. Bismarck was 21-9 when he took to the ice at the VFW Sports Center. The team believes in the support they receive from their fans night in and night out.
“I think that's what makes this organization such a special place to play for kids who come from all over the world to play in front of fans,” head coach Reign Sedevi said. “So, call it a bonus or whatever you want when you make it to the playoffs. I think it's great to get home in the first round in front of the fans here.”
“Everyone says playoff hockey is a different beast, a different animal. But it's true,” added forward Patrick Johnson. “But it's really fun. I'm really looking forward to it. And obviously, to bring it back to Bismarck and bring that ice home is pretty special. And the fans here cheer us on every night, They're showing up and doing a great job, and we're going to show up for them. We're so excited to see a packed VFW again.”
The Bobcats are looking for the same support when they return to the VFW on Monday for the season. The winner of tomorrow night's game will face the top-seeded Minot Minotaurs in the Central District Championship Series.
