LAS VEGAS – Karine Silva isn't quite ready to speak out after her win at UFC on ESPN 55, but she's getting close to it.
Silva (18-4 MMA, 4-0 UFC) earned a unanimous decision victory over Ariane da Silva (17-9 MMA, 6-6 UFC) in a women's flyweight bout at UFC Apex on Saturday inside the Octagon. He continued his undefeated start to his tenure. . This is the first time in her Brazilian athlete's career that she has won a match on the scorecards.
“I felt like I followed my game plan and did everything I could to win the fight,” Silva told MMA Junkie and other reporters through an interpreter on ESPN 55 after the UFC fight. So I'm really happy and really excited to watch my fight again and be able to look in from the outside and see everything. ”
Silva revealed that he suffered a minor toe injury in the fight, but does not think it will prevent him from competing in two more fights this year.
Silva is expected to be ranked in the top 10 in the women's flyweight division, and one more win in a ranked match would give her the shoutout she's been holding back.
“That name is always in my head, but it's kind of out of my reach right now,” Silva said. “So I'm ready for whoever the UFC is next. Maybe next time I can call whoever I want.
