The 2024 NFL Draft concluded Saturday afternoon, but former Buckeyes are still vying for coveted spots in the NFL.
Ohio State wide receiver Xavier Johnson has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills.
Johnson played six seasons in Columbus and proved to be a versatile weapon for the Buckeyes, playing as a wide receiver, lining up in the backfield, and as a key special teamer.
During his six-year career with the Buckeyes, Johnson appeared in a total of 56 games, starting four of them.
In this rushing attack, Johnson totaled 346 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown, averaging 8.4 yards per carry on 40 attempts. As a wideout, he had 26 receptions, 329 yards, and two touchdowns. As a returner, he returned 27 kickoffs for 582 yards, averaging 21.5 yards per return.
The Cincinnati, Ohio, native was a three-star prospect coming out of high school, but he turned down scholarship offers from numerous schools and attended Ohio State instead.
Now, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound weapon is looking to break onto the Bills' 53-man roster, something undrafted free agents rarely achieve. But if anyone can do that, Johnson could be one of the few.
