A surprising first-round pick was FSU defensive tackle Braden Fisk, whose draft stock rose after a dominant performance at the NFL Combine. It didn't take long for Fisk to drop out, as the Los Angeles Rams traded up and selected him in the second round with the 39th overall pick. He is the second former Seminole player the Rams drafted in as many days, after acquiring Jared Verse on opening night.
The two former teammates will continue to play under the same banner as they begin their professional careers.
Fisk is a one-year transfer from Western Michigan and finished the 2024 NFL Combine with a 6.34 overall score, ranking third among defensive tackles drafted overall.
“I think we showed everything we already knew here at Florida State,” Fisk told NoleGameday's Emily Peters of the multiple dominant performances the Seminoles had during the combine. “And we had to show the world how many players we have. I mean, we've got athletes here, we've got ball players, and you can see that on film. And I think just the combine performance backed everything up. ”
Fisk had 43 tackles, nine for a loss, and six sacks during his only season in Tallahassee, Florida. He was second-team All-ACC and third-team All-American. The Rams will be acquiring a quick and talented lineman to help them build their foundation in the NFC West following the retirement of Aaron Donald.
