Welcome back, MMA fans!! UFCVegas91 is on Saturday night! This card is OK, not too many great matchups or big names.
But we've found some spots we want to root for, and we're ready for another profitable night in the UFC! Check out the two bets below and enjoy this Vegas91 card!
Machado will secure first UFC win
Caio Machado (0-1 UFC) doesn't have the one-shot power of most heavyweights, but he has solid footwork and is good at keeping his distance and attacking with a jab. He has solid takedown defense and can take down opponents with decent success as a decent grappler when he wants to.
Machado is locked in and needs to get to work once this fight starts. In his previous fights, he has shown a lackadaisical approach and an unwillingness to stick around to get his job done. He has made some mistakes in his past fights and needs to correct them as he grows.
Machado punched through his final two opponents, landing approximately 7 strikes per minute, absorbing 2 strikes per minute, and demonstrating the ability to maintain distance accurately, while also posting an excellent defensive takedown rate of 82%. I recorded it.
This is also a fade for Dontare Mays (3-4 UFC), who isn't a very good fighter with two losses in his last three fights. He might try to beat Machado, but I don't think he'll do it because his fighting IQ has been shown to be very low before.
Machado could have easily won his first UFC fight against Mick Parkin, but the takedown and control time were too long for Parkin. He's looking for his first UFC win and will be hungry for it!
Best bet: Caio Machado mL (-115) FanDuel
Figlak will show no rust with layoffs
Michal Firak (0-1 UFC) is a dangerous striker! He pushes the pace aggressively and wants to control the center of the ring. He can also defend takedowns and use aggressive wrestling if needed.
I would be surprised if he tries a takedown. He plans to stay on his feet and try to outdo Hubbard (3-5 UFC). Firak has been through a long layoff and that is the only concern, but his skills should surpass what Hubbard can bring to the Octagon.
Austin Hubbard isn't a submission or knockout threat, but I don't see how he'll get the job done. If he wins it will go to a decision, but Firak is hungry for his first win in the UFC and I believe he will do enough damage to win this fight.
Medics want to show everyone that they are ready to step up in the competition
Uros Medic (3-2 UFC) likes to take fights straight to his opponents from the jump by getting on top of them and aiming for their faces. He is a clean technical striker. He has a 100% completion rate in all of his career wins.
He has 1/3 of the experience as Means, but Means is older (40 years old) and has lost 3 of his last 4 fights. Tim Means (15-12 UFC) will definitely (no pun intended) be able to weather the storm and outlast the medic. Means is a long-term staple in his UFC and a fan favorite. He has the experience and if he is hungry for a win, he could get it at very good plus money odds.
Means has a crazy fighting style where he switches stances and attacks from different angles, but with that said, Medic has no experience in the later rounds, so he won't be able to finish this fight in the first round. I intend to aim for
If it goes into the late second or third rounds, Means might be able to make a late shot to win this one. I would be shocked if that happened. Mainly because Medic is 11 years younger and looking to add another win and make his mark in the UFC.
Means could be injured by the medics, and the pain will someday fall on the 40-year-old. Medic believes she can do enough damage to Means in the first round to close her distance on her scorecards and raise her hand on Saturday night.
Best Parlay: Michal Firak ML + Uros Medic ML (+110) Caesars
