Muay Thai legends Liam Harrison and Seksan Ol Kwanmuang will square off at ONE 168 in Denver in a catchweight bout that both fighters have been calling for on social media.
Harrison, a British player who has been out since 2022 with a knee injury and appears to be nearing the end of his career, declared in December that Sexan was the only fight he was interested in.
While Harrison is sidelined, Thai veteran Seksan has made a name for himself in ONE Championship, winning eight of his eight fights in the promotion last year.
He also made it clear he was interested in fighting Harrison, declaring on Instagram that he was “ready to meet at 140 pounds.”
Seksan recently lost to Yutaro Asahi for the first time since 2022, but the 35-year-old will have five months to prepare for the fight against Harrison.
In contrast, Harrison, who didn't fight at all last year, already faces Katsuhito Kikuno at ONE 167 in June, so he will have two fights booked within four months.
Fans will be hoping the English fighter comes through the fight unscathed.
Harrison is a former WBC welterweight, WMC lightweight and WPMF light welterweight champion who has fought some of Thailand's best fighters throughout his career.
Sexan's list of titles is even more impressive. He was a two-time Rajadamnan Lightweight Champion, WBC Super Lightweight Champion, Omnoi Super Lightweight Champion, and Channel 7 Super Bantamweight Champion.
The September 6th Veterans Conference in Denver will be held at the 18,000-capacity Ball Arena and will be ONE Championship's second event in the United States and part of the promotion's international expansion in 2024. This year's matches have already been decided between Qatar and Japan. The same goes for the shows held every weekend in Thailand.
Seksan and Harrison aren't the only decorated fighters added to the One 168 card this week.
Four-time IBJJF world champion Mikey Moussi will move up in weight to face Cade Ruotolo in a submission grappling match for the lightweight title.
Musumeci also holds the ONE Championship flyweight title, while Ruotolo is the ADCC World Champion and will make his MMA debut against Blake Cooper at ONE 167 in June.
As previously announced, mixed martial artist Stamp Fairtex will move up to strawweight to take on champion Xiong Jingnan in the headliner of ONE 168. In the co-main event, Jonathan Haggerty will take on Superlec Kiat Mu9 for the Bantamweight Muay Thai title.
