This week's Blue Federal Credit Union Athlete of the Week award is a hat trick!
Liberty Common girls soccer player Miriam Huffsmith earned top honors in the Fort Collins area April 14-20 thanks to her prolific goal scoring.
The Eagles freshman extended his scoring streak last week with a hat trick (+1 assist) in a 6-0 win over local rival Wellington.
Hufsmith has been active since joining the national team midway through the season, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists in just six games.
Liberty Common is 5-0-1 in those six games, with the freshman's 12 goals leading the team in scoring by a wide margin.
Huffsmith is the first Liberty Common athlete and also the first local soccer player (male or female) to earn Blue FCU Athlete of the Week honors during the 2023-24 school year.
The Eagles' freshman phenom rallied the Liberty Common community to win in a fierce fan vote with 43.1% of the votes cast.
This surpassed some other strong performances from other candidates.
