LSU visit
Burrow arrived in Baton Rouge on Sunday night to begin a visit with LSU. The trip south was the first since Brian Kelly and others entered the portal with their first crack at being the No. 1 defensive lineman.
It gave Barrow a chance to immerse himself in the Death Valley scene and get a taste of how the staff would utilize his skill set. With Davis leading the recruiting effort, Burrow was able to sit back and talk about the job.
”[Bo Davis] He told me he was going to help me grow into the player I wanted to be and get to where I wanted to be, which was the NFL,'' Burrow told LSU Country.
Burrow spent four seasons at Michigan State and is currently looking for a new home for his final season of eligibility, but with LSU joining early, he will be wined and dined during the transfer process. .
He played in 34 games with 30 starts, totaling 110 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, 2 field goal blocks, 1 pass breakup, 2 forced fumbles, and fumble recoveries. Recorded 1 time.
As for Baton Rouge, the environment and food stood out and was the place he enjoyed the most.
“It was a great environment. I loved the food and the coaching staff,” Burrow said.
Now, LSU will continue to pursue valuable transfers as it begins the next steps in the transfer portal process.
Next two visits: Miami and Missouri.
Barrow will spend the next few days on the road again. He plans to hop on a plane and travel to Miami, then to Missouri again. he told LSU Country.
Officials have been to LSU, Miami and Missouri State, and a fourth visit may be more than just “up in the air” at this point.
For now, sources believe this will be an LSU vs. Miami race. For the Tigers, the goal was clear. This will be followed before he leaves Baton Rouge. He is currently scheduled to travel to Miami in the coming days.
With several programs stepping up to the plate to close down the trenches with NIL as a key component, it's clear that defensive tackle prices are high right now.
LSU will be dealing with several heavy hitters over the next few weeks while navigating the transfer portal.
Commitment timeline
Burrow intends to wrap up his recruiting efforts by the end of next week, and plans to make a formal decision Thursday or Friday, he told LSU Country.
It was a hectic process for the No. 1 committed defensive lineman, but he had a rough idea of who the finalists would be after narrowing down his list the day he entered the portal.
He will now move forward with the process by visiting Miami and Missouri, talking with the teams, and making a decision by the end of next week.
LSU Country is expected to release updates on Burrow's recruitment and LSU's transfer portal plans in the coming weeks.
