Hirataro will compete against a promising flyweight fighter to put his undefeated record on the line.
Taira's management announced Thursday that he is scheduled to face Joshua Bunn (10-1) at UFC 302 on June 1 in Newark, New Jersey. The two fighters share the same representative.
This is a change of opponent for Van, who was originally scheduled to face Sumudaelji. The Chinese standout withdrew from the contest for undisclosed reasons.
Taira is also considering changing his schedule after losing opponent Tim Elliott to an undisclosed injury. He was expected to fight Elliott at the May 18th UFC Fight Night event.
This new matchup pits two of the most promising fighters in the 125-pound division against each other. Taira is yet to lose in his 15 professional fights, including a perfect 5-0 mark in the UFC. In his most recent fight, the 24-year-old scored a second-round TKO victory over Carlos Hernandez.
Vann, 22, begins his UFC career with a 3-0 record. He defeated Felipe Bunes by second-round TKO in January and had decision wins over Kevin Borjas and Jargas Zhumagulov.
The highlight of UFC 302 is the title fight between lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier. Middleweight contenders Sean Strickland and Paulo Costa will square off in the co-main event.
