The University of Colorado will begin next season's conference play by welcoming the National College Hockey Conference newcomers to Ed Robson Arena on Nov. 8 and 9.
The news was announced as the NCHC released the league schedule for the 2024-2025 season on Tuesday.
Unlike last year, Arizona State will officially join the NCHC on July 1, so nine teams will compete in the NCHC's Julie and Spencer Penrose Memorial Cup, awarded to the league's regular season champion. become.
The Tigers will host the Sun Devils as part of the league's opening weekend. To accommodate Arizona's participation, the NCHC will be split into three pods, one for CC, Arizona State, and Denver, one for Minnesota-Duluth, North Dakota, and St. Cloud State, and a final pod for Omaha, Western. Michigan and Miami.
This season, all NCHC teams will play 24 games, 12 at home and 12 on the road. The scheduling model follows a three-year rotation, with the Tigers facing their “podmates” in home and away series each season. The CC vs. Denver series will maintain its normal home-and-home format. Eight of his NCHC team's 24 league games are against teams in the pod.
The remaining 16 games will be played against six non-pod teams, with four series being played only once, either home or away, and the two non-pod opponents being played twice, a home series and an away series. These matchups change each year.
CC finishes its November schedule against non-pod teams, which it plays twice during the season, with the Tigers traveling to Western Michigan on Nov. 15 and 16 and St. Cloud on Nov. 22 and 23. Welcome the state home. CC will host Western Michigan later in the season on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 before traveling to St. Cloud, Minn., for the penultimate league series on Feb. 21-22.
The Gold Pan Series will be held December 13-14 and March 7-8. The Tigers will travel to Tempe, Arizona for the second series against the Sun Devils on January 24th and 25th.
