Ronda Rousey talks about MMA media and why her relationship with Joe Rogan ended in rift
During a recent appearance chris cuomo project On the podcast, Rousey explained her disdain for Rogan and other members of the MMA media.
“It was disappointing to see everyone willingly turn on me,” Rousey said. “People like Joe Rogan, who cried in the ring from the honor of calling my fight, and people I thought were friends in the media, immediately turned on me. In a way, I'm grateful for this, because it forced me to separate how other people's perceptions of me were intertwined with my own. Because when you're receiving an outpouring of love and support from people, you're being bombarded with love from the world. And how do you keep this going? Pandering to everyone. I was doing things that other people thought were cool, but it wasn't really fun…
“It wasn't real love, it was fake. It's a reflection of themselves and what I represent to them…The MMA media hates me, but that's okay. They all , doubled down and said I'm making excuses…not giving ratings where they should. I've been waiting forever for that call.”
Rogan has not commented on Rousey's memoir, but our struggleSince the book's release, no UFC Hall of Famer has been admitted to the hospital for a concussion.
Rousey turned professional wrestler in WWE after losing to Nunes at UFC 207. She has shot down any speculation regarding her return as a martial artist in recent years.
Rousey and Logan may have a falling out in the coming months, but if Rousey's comments are any indication, she doesn't expect a reconciliation with Logan.
