It's a great time to be a basketball fan. Every game from now on will be more important than the last, and it will be a truly great viewing experience for true fans. Watching these teams play 100 percent defense on every possession shows how talented they are on both ends of the floor, and it's really special to witness. With that said, following the Miracle Monday card, let's talk about this exciting Tuesday schedule.
core play
Anthony Edwards (SG/SF – MIN): $8,900 DraftKings, $9,800 FanDuel
Edwards has made steady progress throughout the season and is on the verge of superstar status. The former top pick averaged nearly 50 DraftKings points per game on DraftKings during the final months of the year, and had an impressive performance with 56 points in Game 1. He did that damage in just 36 minutes and we truly believe he can play 40-45 minutes. The rest of this series.
Paul George (SG/SF – LAC): $8,100 DraftKings, $8,500 FanDuel
I wasn't sure how LA would do in Game 1, but they looked as good as ever. What many people don't realize is that PG13 can be one of the best players in this type of role. He has been asked to take over the offense without Kawhi Leonard, and he has a 32 percent usage rate off the court. He's also averaged nearly 50 DK points per game while out, and should continue that against this 18th-ranked Dallas defense.
Cash game considerations
Luka Doncic (PG – DAL): $11,900 DraftKings, $12,300 FanDuel
Doncic is the most eligible player, and he's earned it. The Slovenian led the NBA with 66 DraftKings points per game while combining with a floor of 50 points. He's also averaged over 70 DK points in the second half of the season, and we truly believe this could be his lowest line in a 40-minute role throughout this postseason. Not to mention, he has scored at least 58 DK points in seven of the last nine games against LA.
Damian Lillard (PG – MIL): $9,300 DraftKings, $9,500 FanDuel
Lillard has struggled all season, but he's happy to replace Giannis, who is questionable for this game. That was the case in Game 1, where Lillard scored 49 DraftKings points in 38 minutes. That's the stud we saw in Portland, but it's no surprise that he's being held to 20-25 shots and 40 minutes as Milwaukee's primary playmaker. The matchup against Indiana is also great. More on that later.
GPP target
Bobby Portis (PF/C – MIL): $6,800 DraftKings, $7,300 FanDuel
The biggest beneficiary of Giannis' injury is Portis, who has been included in the starting lineup. The man has been a per-minute rusher throughout his career and is guaranteed to play 30 minutes as long as Antetokounmpo is out. In the 24 games this year in which BP played at least 28 minutes, he averaged 37 DraftKings points per game. That's all you can ask for from a player at this price point, especially against an Indiana team that ranks 28th in total defense and 1st in pace.
Daniel Gafford (C – DAL): DraftKings $5,200, FanDuel $5,400
Gafford was one of the Mavs' most valuable players over the last two months, so it was shocking to see him play just 13 minutes in Game 1. Since entering the starting lineup, the big man is averaging 32 points per game on DraftKings, which is about the same as he did in Washington. This player can earn 40-50 DK points by playing 30 minutes, so we're willing to take that risk on GPP.
value play
Khris Middleton (SG/SF – MIL): $7,400 DraftKings, $8,100 FanDuel
This is the last part of the Milwaukee stack. The reason we want to use all of these players is because Giannis will be out, leaving a ton of usage, shooting, and minutes on the table. Middleton has been a mainstay, averaging over 40 DK points per game when Antetokounmpo was sidelined. We saw that in the first game, where he scored 45 DK points in 35 minutes. Playing on a fast-paced team will only increase his value, and it wouldn't be surprising if Middleton's price increases by $1,000 by the end of this series.
Ivica Zubac (C – LAC): $5,800 DraftKings, $7,100 FanDuel
With Kawhi gone, it's all hands-on deck in LA. That meant all of these players had to step up, and Zu had 20 points and 15 rebounds in Game 1. More importantly, he played 32 minutes, and Zubac could be a $7,000 player in that type of role. The best part of the game was against Dallas, who have played small ball, allowing Ivica to gut them in the first game.
