He escapes his dark past by entering a mysterious place where beasts tear each other apart. He specializes in the Takemiya style, and is drawn to the idea of fighting against the world's best martial artists in underground martial arts.

The trailer also gives us a glimpse of Juzo Fujimaki's ulterior motive for participating in this dangerous competition: wanting to fight a special opponent. Garouden: Lone Wolf and Cub revolves around Fujimaki Juzo, a short-tempered protagonist who committed a crime in the past and is on the run. His life changes when he is blackmailed into participating in an illegal tournament called Kodoku. There, he fights to the death with top fighters and reveals his beast form.
